A good day’s skiing for advanced or expert skiers on a big powder day would be to go up to Ninety Nine 90 early in the morning, then move over to Condor Woods below Murdock Peak, and then hike up to Murdock Peak before you get too tired. There’s some magnificent backcountry skiing to be had here, but only expert skiers trained in avalanche safety and with the proper equipment should consider passing through the gates that access them (gates are subject to closure). Never go beyond a closed area boundary or a sign saying “Closed: Avalanche Danger.” You are strictly on your own when leaving through the backcountry gates, so be sure to read the warning signs before leaving the resort.
