At Vail, beginners get to start at the top—at the top of the mountain
that is. The beginner area is located at the top of the Eagle Bahn
Gondola at Eagle’s Nest. Nursery slopes at altitude and lower down at
resort level are excellent but they can be overcrowded. While Vail’s
legendary Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin are meant for more experienced
skiers, beginners can ski in places all over the front side of Vail
Mountain from Golden Peak to Lionshead.
