Mayrhofen/Ziller V ski weather

Mayrhofen?Hintertux

Family friendly and with a highly regarded ski school, Mayrhofen?s above tree line skiing is best suited to intermediates. Advanced skiers will quickly exhaust the pisted runs, but in good conditions there are good off-piste opportunities. Uploading and downloading via the main Penken jumbo cable car is tiresome, especially at peak holiday periods when queues can be unacceptably long. Après ski is lively both on and off the mountain and the nightlife extends well into the small hours.

Some three hours drive from Munich airport and just an hour or so from Innsbruck, Mayrhofen has a solid track record as one of Austria?s key teaching resorts. It also has a good snow record, and Hintertux, its lofty neighbour, guarantees year-round snow. The combined areas, although not linked, are marketed as Ski and Glacier World Zillertal 3000 and are covered by The Zillertal Superskipass.

Summer skiing at Hintertux
Hintertux has an equally solid reputation (particularly in an age of diminishing glaciers) as an enduringly reliable location for summer skiing ? a godsend for national ski teams anxious to maintain their skills without having to waste precious time travelling to mountain ranges in the southern hemisphere. Hintertux also attracts snowboarders to its summer snowboard camps.

Mayrhofen's nightlife
For those with sufficient energy to party and ski, the night-life can be decidedly lively. At the same time, the resort is acclaimed for the careful welcome it extends to young families.
