La Rosiere and La Thuile expansion

New Mont Valaisan ski area for La Rosiere and La Thuile

In the 2018/19 ski season, La Rosiere and La Thuile’s San Bernardo ski area will be larger and higher than ever before, thanks to the new pistes and lifts at Mont Valaisan.

La Rosiere and La Thuile have expanded their shared Espace San Bernardo ski area by creating a new sector at Mont Valaisan. Five new red pistes have been created, serviced by two new 6-seater chairlifts. The top lift will reach 2800m, the new high point for the whole ski area.

With this expansion, La Rosiere in France and La Thuile in Italy will be able to offer skiers a combined international ski area with 150kms of runs, separated into 85 different slopes, ranging in difficulty from Magic Carpet serviced Nursery Slopes to a freeride zone for advanced skiers. There is also considerable lift-serviced off-piste and heliskiing available in the Esapace San Bernardo. La Thuile based skiers can also buy a ski pass that covers Courmayeur – there is a bus service between the two resorts.
