Innsbruck Airport – The Gateway to the Austrian TirolInnsbruck airport, the gateway to the Tirol, offers short transfer times to over 20 ski resorts in Austria including good value family-friendly ski resorts as well as high profile internationally renowned resorts.
Easy Jet flights from UK to Innsbruck
Easy Jet operates a daily service between London Gatwick and Innsbruck during the winter, and three times weekly (Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday) in summer. Easy Jet also flies from Liverpool and Bristol to Innsbruck in the winter, but on a more restricted basis.
Major improvements at London Gatwick
A massive investment programme at Gatwick has transformed the airport’s busiest South Terminal. Landside improvements include a larger entrance area, better drop off zones, lighter and brighter space for check-in and arrivals, a new 19 lane security area with automated security barriers and more efficient security screening. Airside improvements include a more spacious departures area, a bigger and more impressive retail environment as well as better waiting areas with plenty of seating at departure gates. Improvements at Gatwick, which benefit Easy Jet and other airlines as well as passengers, allow you to move more quickly and more easily through the airport, especially if you remember to check in online.
Faster transits through Gatwick and Innsbruck airports
The faster transit times at Gatwick are most apparent when travelling mid week. Easy Jet flight EZY5391 from Gatwick to Innsbruck, scheduled to depart at 07:15 on Tuesday 31st January was only 50% full, which allowed passengers to board faster and enjoy the extra space. Our aircraft was airborne 15 minutes early and gained a further 10 minutes en route, touching down in Innsbruck at 09:50 local time, 25 minutes earlier than scheduled!
Tiny in comparison to Gatwick, Innsbruck airport is surrounded by snowy mountain peaks. The approach is exciting and a window seat is highly recommended and it’s worth paying the premium for speedy boarding to secure one. It took just a few minutes for the aircraft to taxi to the gate and less than 20 minutes after landing we had collected our bags from carousel and were on our way to the car rental desk.
Short transfer times to over 20 ski resorts
Innsbruck airport is just a few kilometres from the motorway and offers easy access to more than 20 Tirol ski resorts within a 30-60 minutes transfer time from the airport which makes the Tirol an ideal choice for weekend skiing as well as longer breaks.
