Samoens and Flaine benefit from new Coulouvrier bowl

New Coulouvrier bowl in Grand Massif for Samoens, Morillon and Flaine.

Skiers based in all the Grand Massif resorts will benefit from the new Coulouvrier bowl.

One of the largest additions to any ski resort for 2017/18 ski season is the development of brand new pistes and lifts between Morillon and Samoëns in the Grand Massif area. Just below the 2118m Tete des Saix, and hence easily accessed from Flaine as well as from Samoens and Moillon, the new Coulouvrier bowl will include:

  • New 6 seater ‘Coulouvrier’ chairlift
  • 2 new blue pistes (open for 2017/18)
  • 2 new red pistes (open for 2018/19)

Transporting skiers from 1200m to 2120m, the chairlift will be a record length of 2850m – the longest of its kind in Europe. The journey will take 9 minutes and can carry up to 3000 skiers per hour.
