Baqueira/s new 2610m Baciver ski lift extends area for 2018/19 season

Baqueira, the leading Spanish ski resort, has extended its ski area with its new 2610m high Baciver drag lift, creating new piste and off-piste runs.

Baqueira / Beret’s new Baciver drag lift is ready and working for the 2019/19 ski season. It ascends Cap Baciver between Baqueira and Beret and takes skiers and snowboarders to 2610m above sea level. This makes it Baqueira Beret’s highest ski lift and one of the highest in the Pyrenees.

Three red runs come down from the top, Baciver, Roca Blanca and Estanholets. At the end of these skiers and boarders can either return up Cap Baciver on the new lift or keep decending on a choice of red or black runs. If they keep descending without stopping, they can carry on all the way down to Baqueira at 1500m, completing the longest pisted run in the Pyrenees with a vertical drop of 1110m.

For off-piste skiers and freeriders, the new Baciver creates a new off-piste playground. The ascent of 2644m Tuc de Baciva which used to take over an hour from the top of the Dera Reiner chair lift, can now be completed in under 15 minutes from the top of the Baciver drag lift. And from the summit, there are off-piste runs in all directions, including some of the steepest freeride descents in the Pyrenees.
