Driving from Buenos Aires to Bariloche

Getting from Buenos Aires to Bariloche my car is a seriously long journey, about a 1,600km (1,000 mile) drive south west from Argentina’s South Atlantic coast to Cerro Catedral close to the border with Chile. The total journey time by car is about 18-19 hours, which is a good way to experience Argentina if you allow extra time for stops en route, otherwise you’ll need time to recover on arrival at the resort.  Car hire in Argentina is provided by major international companies and your national driving licence is acceptable.
