Getting to Soll / SkiWelt by Rail
The nearest main train stations to Soll are Worgl (10km), Kufstein (10km) and St Johann in Tirol (21km) with regular post bus services running from train stations to Soll, Scheffau, Ellmau and Going. Depending on train times and connections you could sometimes end up waiting up to an hour for the next bus in which case it’s easier and quicker to take a taxi.
Innsbruck airport – Innsbruck Hbf – Worgl – Soll is about 1 hour 45 minutes by bus and train including a 15 minute bus journey from the airport to Innsbruck main train station and 30 minutes by bus from Worgl to Soll, depending on departure times and connection. Allow 2 hours total.
Munich airport – Munchen Ost – Worgl – Soll is 2 hours or more by train depending on departure times and connections then a 30 minute bus ride from Worgl to Soll but you also need to allow for time waiting the bus (up to an hour) from Worgl to Soll. Allow 3½ – 4 hours total.
Salzburg airport – Salzburg Hbf – Worgl or St Johann in Tirol – Soll by bus and train takes about 2 hours including a 25 minute bus ride from the airport to the main train station in Salzburg, then a further 30-40 minutes by bus from Worgl or St Johann. Allow 4 hours total.

Driving to Soll and the SkiWelt
Soll is in the heart of the SkiWelt and easy to get to by car. No matter which airport or direction you are coming there are fast motorways, E52/E60 from north east and E45/E60 from south west, running into the Tirol and depending which direction you are coming from its just 8-10km from the nearest motorway exit to Soll.
Innsbruck airport – 78km from Soll – from the airport follow signs for Salzburg/Gotzens / Vuls E60/A12/A13, continuing along the A12 for approximately 60km to Worgl Ost exit 17 then follow B178 sign-posted Sankt Johann in Tirol for 10km to Soll.
Salzburg airport – 118km from Soll – from the airport follow signs for Munchen / Innsbruck / A10 / Villach continue on A8/A93/A12 following signs for Innsbruck/Kufstein as far as Kufstein Sud (exit 6) then follow the B173 direction Sankt Johann in Tirol for approximately 8km to Soll.
Munich airport – 144km from Soll – from the airport follow signs for Munchen / A9 then A99/A8 sign-posted Salzburg / Innsbruck then follow the A8/A93 to Innsbruck / Kufstein as far as Kufstein Sud (exit 6) then follow the B173 sign-posted Sankt Johann in Tirol for a further 8km to Soll
When hiring a car in winter ensure that the car has winter tyres (or snow chains), otherwise you risk having an accident, being fined and your car hire insurance will be invalidated!
Other Ski Resorts in Ski Welt
Having a car in Soll is useful for getting to and from main ski lift (located approximately 500m south of the village) and for exploring eight more SkiWelt villages nearby – Scheffau (6km), Ellmau (9km) and Going (11km) to the east and Itter (6km), Hopfgarten (11km), Westerndorf (17km) and Brixen im Thale (20km) to the south.
It’s also only 24km from Soll to Kitzbuhel which is well worth visiting for a day and a treat for non-skiers in need of retail therapy.
