There are several schools with a total of over 300 ski instructors, including Scuola Sci Snowboard Cortina (the biggest with 140 instructors), Scuola Sci Azzurra, Scuola Sci Cristallo, Scuola Snowboard Boarderline and Centro Sci Cortina, as well as private instructors such as Paolo D’Amico who worked with Sylvester Stallone in the film Ciffhanger and with Warren Miller in the 1992 film Vertical Reality, and Luca Magro, a former member of the national bobsleigh team who specialise in carving and teaching children to ski; both speak excellent English.
All ski schools in Cortina offer ski individual or group lessons for all levels from beginner to expert and usually, on request, special day-long tours include the Great War Ski Tour and day trips on skis to Pland des Corones, Monte Elmo and other areas. Scuola Snowboard Boarderline is Cortina d’Ampezzo’s only “ski school” specialising in snowboarding.

The Alpine Guides of Cortina is one of Italy’s leading mountain guiding groups. Famous for numerous first ascents in the early 20th Century, the company has over 20 expert mountain guides with specialist knowledge of the Dolomites for guiding off-piste and ski mountaineering.
