Apres Ski in Klosters

Apres-ski in Klosters tends to be restrained and tasteful rather than flash or overly-exuberant, starting in cosy ‘Schwendi’ huts on the Parsenn sector, then moving onto hotel bars. The restaurant scene is also skewed towards hotels, with only a few independents. For those wanting something more active to do, there are very good winter hiking paths, nordic ski tracks and toboggan runs.

Madrisa is a sunny ski area, but it’s also the family area, so the apres-ski is chilled-out rather than boisterous. On shady Parsenn most of the action happens in cosy ‘Schwendi’ huts lining the ski runs home. There are bars at the foot of the slopes and in the centre of the village, often in hotels. There is also a small night club, Casa Antica, for those wanting to dance.

Restaurants in Klosters

The restaurant scene in Klosters is dominated by luxury hotels with gourmet restaurants. The Hotel Walserhof, the Vereina and the Chesa Grischuna have all won Michelin stars or other highly respected awards. If you want something cheaper, there are small pizzerias near the bottom of the lifts.

Winter-hiking

Klosters and Davos have 150km of winter hiking paths, including routes from Klosters to to Alp Novat and to Serneus.

Snowshoeing

Snowshoes allow winter-hikers to go off the beaten track.  In Davos Klosters there are official, avalanche-secured routes so you can do it safely, but with a mountain guide you can go even further into the mountains.

Tobogganing

The 8.5km long toboggan run from Madrisa to Sass is superb. The run from the Gotschnabahn mid station to Klosters Platz is shorter and steeper and also worth doing. If it whets your appetite for more sledging, there are similar slopes in Davos.

Nordic/Cross-Country Skiing
