Ski Lifts in Klosters

The separate Davos Klosters ski areas are not lift-linked, so you use buses and trains more than in other ski resorts, but they are free to skiers with a lift pass or a guest card. On the mountains, there are lifts of every type, from fast modern gondolas and detachable chairlifts to older cable cars, funicular railways and T-bars.

Buses and trains are an integrated part of the Davos Klosters lift system. You use them not only to reach the different ski areas but also to be picked up from the bottom of long runs leading down to small villages without ski lifts, like Serneus, Küblis, Wolfgang, Mühle, and Teufi. To get up the mountain, almost every type of lift is deployed: funicular railways, cable cars, drag lifts, T-Bars, chair lifts, and gondolas. Some are modern, but some aren’t. Mid-week, there is enough spare capacity for lift queues to be rare. However, you will occasionally have to wait for a cable car if the operator doesn’t feel sufficient skiers are ready to justify an immediate departure. Queues are much more common on weekends and holidays, particularly at the base stations of the most popular ski areas, such as Parsenn/Gotschnagrat, Joskobshorn and Madrisa.

Davos Klosters Ski Lift Pass

Most skiers coming to Klosters for a week should buy the Regional ski pass, which covers five of the six Davos Klosters ski areas (Parsenn, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, Pischa and Madrisa) and all the buses and trains you need to get to and from them. The Regional ski pass, however, does not cover Schatzalp-Strela. You must pay extra to reach it on its private funicular railway and use its ski lifts. If you are staying for just a few days, cheaper lift passes cover just one or two of the ski areas for one or two days. (A pass covering just Madrisa might be all a beginner needs.) The season pass TOP CARD is also valid for other ski resorts, including Arosa and Laax
