Where to stay in the Stubai Valley?

Wherever you stay in Stubaital there are good parking facilities at the ski lifts and an excellent valley bus service included in the lift pass, so getting to and from the ski areas is rarely a problem.

Most of the accommodation in Stubaital is in Neustift and the outlying hamlet of Milders including luxury hotels complete with wellness centres and top-quality restaurants. Staying in Fulpmes is convenient for skiing Schlick 2000 and getting to and from Innsbruck using the local tram service. It also has the best nightlife.

The tiny village of Gsteig has around two dozen hotels and pensions and at Kruessbach, there’s a tiny draglift for kiddies, and 10 or so assorted hotels and pensions. Mutterberg, closest to the Stubaier Glacier lift station, is more of a car park than a village but also features the popular 4-star hotel here, the Alpensporthotel, which has a bit of an apres-ski scene in the late afternoon. Later in the evening, it seems like a remote outpost, albeit a very comfortable one.
