Where to stay in the Stubai Valley?
Wherever you stay in Stubaital, there are good parking facilities at the ski lifts and an excellent valley bus service included in the lift pass, so getting to and from the ski areas is rarely a problem.
Most of the accommodation in Stubaital is in Neustift and the outlying hamlet of Milders, including luxury hotels complete with wellness centres and top-quality restaurants.
Closest to the Stubai Glacier lift station, Mutterberg is more of a car park than a village. It also features the popular 4-star Alpensporthotel, which is fun for après-ski in the late afternoon. In the evening, it feels more like a remote outpost, albeit a very comfortable one.
Staying in Fulpmes is convenient for skiing at Schlick 2000 and getting to and from Innsbruck using the local tram service. It also has the best nightlife.
The tiny village of Gsteig has around two dozen hotels and pensions, and Kruessbach has around 10 assorted hotels and pensions (and a children’s drag lift).
