Aspen Snowmass Accommodation
Whether star-spotting or on a budget, there are over 50 hotels in the Aspen area and numerous other options including condominiums, private homes, chalets and bed & breakfasts.
Aspen has accommodations for around 8,000 guests and there are a further 6,000 beds at Snowmass (and more on the way in the new Snowmass Village), where 95 percent of the accommodations are conveniently located right on the slopes. Little Nell and St. Regis are famous for star spotting. Hotel Jerome is a prominent historic landmark, built in 1889 at the height of Colorado’s silver boom and restored in 1985 to its original Victorian splendor. While lodging in Aspen certainly isn’t cheap, there are a variety of options to suit most budgets.
When deciding where to stay, it’s also a good idea to decide which of Aspen’s four mountains you plan to ski most often. Getting from Snowmass to the other Aspen resorts via shuttle bus can take a little while at peak times and many (particularly kids) might find the slow ride frustrating. If you plan to spend most of your time at Snowmass, consider staying there. If you plan to ski the other Aspen mountains more, staying in downtown Aspen probably makes more sense.
