Hotels in Sun Valley
There are two hotels at Sun Valley Resort with many others in Ketchum itself. The Sun Valley Lodge was built in 1936 and remains world class today. It’s a beautifully kept property with a mid-20th-century feel enhanced by the uniformed doormen, the large second-floor “drawing room” with piano in the center, overstuffed chairs and sofas in the middle, fireplaces at either end, and an immense hot tub-style swimming pool that dates to the early days of the resort. If you are going to spoil yourself this is the place to stay. The Sun Valley Inn is a short walk from the Lodge, and a bit less expensive, but shares most amenities. Condos and suites are available, as are packages.
The luxurious Knob Hill Inn has a Tyrolean feel and the Best Western lodges offer excellent amenities. Ski View Lodge, near downtown Ketchum, is close to everything with Bald Mountain views behind. There are self-catering rustic cabins to rent too. Staying here is not cheap by other U.S. resort standards, but if you’re prepared to consider the wider Wood River Valley area you’ll find something to suit. Central Reservations is the best starting point for all lodgings enquiries.
