Staying in one of Alta’s five unique lodges at the base of the mountain is a unique experience.
Some people prefer to stay at the base of the lifts in one of Alta’s unique lodgings or condominium properties, knowing they are just steps away from skiing the next morning. Others enjoy the ambience of Salt Lake City’s much wider variety of lodging options and don’t mind a short drive up the canyon as a trade-off for a “night on the town”. In addition to the lodges listed below, there are a handful of condos and private homes near the resort that sleep another 1,137 guests. Blackjack and Hellgate are two choices. Private homes are also within walking distance of the village.
For those looking to stay on site, Alta has five on-site lodges, each with a different history and feel:
Alta Lodge ****
Opened in 1939, the Alta Lodge offers a classic ski week experience.
Alta’s Rustler Lodge ****
Alta’s Rustler Lodge offers a 4-star ski experience directly at the base of the resort. With a large pool and hot tub overlooking the slopes and an on-site ski shop, it is a popular choice with families and couples.
Sleep so close to the Collins Lift you can hear it when they start it up in the morning.
The Snowpine Lodge ****
The Snowpine Lodge is Alta’s smallest and most intimate ski lodge.
Alta’s only three-star lodging property, the Alta Peruvian Lodge is also its most sociable.
