Val Cenis AcccommodationVal Cenis has remained relatively untouched by tourism and Lanslebourg, Lanslevillard and Termignon have a more rustic feel than most other French ski resorts. The hotels, apartments and chalets in all three villages are also cheaper than in more famous resorts.
Val Cenis is one of the cheaper ski resorts to stay in, so some of the luxury options are actually quite affordable.
There are no 5-star super-luxury hotels that we know of but the 4-star Hôtel Saint Charles Val Cenis in Lanslebourg comes very close, as do some of the 4-star ‘ApartHotels’ such as the 4 star CGH Les Chalets de Flambeau in Lanslebourg which offers serviced apartments with access to an indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam spa, gym, games area, kids area and concierge services. The Residences Les Alpages de Val Cenis, also 4-star and also in Lanslebourg, is broadly similar except the pool is outside. Les Balcons de Val Cenis Village in Lanslevillard is another 4-star complex; this time there is no swimming pool in the residence itself but guests have free access to one 200m away. There is also a 3-star hotel with indoor swimming pool and kids’ club – the Hotel Club MMV – which is just 50 yards from the ski slopes. La Cle des Champs is another 3 star hotel, which is slightly further from the lift (about 200 metres).
There are also cheaper hotels, gites, chalets and self-catering apartments. Overall there is a decent range of accommodation but not a huge choice within each category – Val Cenis is too small for that, which is part of its charm – so make a reservation as early as you can. Some of the hotels let you make a reservation without paying anything upfront.
