Ski Schools in Val Cenis

Val Cenis Vanoise has three ski schools, of which two are members of ESF, the official French ski school association. A third ski school, ESI, is independent and also offers mountain guiding as well as instruction in a wide range of snowsports.

Val Cenis ESF Ski School

The Val Cenis ESF ski school has offices in Val Cenis Le Haut, Lanslevillard and Lanslebourg and employs 120 instructors. Languages spoken include: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Tuition ranges from group bookings to private instruction for both children and adults, although children can only learn snowboarding from the age of ten. All pupils are urged to wear a helmet. Disciplines include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, freestyle skiing and freeriding, although the latter two are only available during the busy Christmas and February holidays. 

Ski lessons are held in Lanslevillard between 9.30 am and noon, and between 2.30pm and 5.00pm (2.45pm – 5.15pm in March and April). Lanslebourg ski lessons are between 9.15 and 11.45am and between 2.30pm and 5pm except during February school holidays when lessons are from 9-11am, 11.15am-1.15pm, and from 2.30 – 5pm. ESI Ecole du Ski Val Cenis Vanoise

The ESI Ecole du Ski Val Cenis Vanoise is an independent ski school with offices both in Lanslebourg and Lanslevillard. It also provides qualified mountain guides for skiing and riding off-piste. Due to its independence, it offers a wider range of instruction than the ESF ski schools. As well as skiing and snowboard instruction, ESI Val Cenis also provides tuition in Handiski both for disabled and able-bodied skiers, as well as Taxiski. ESI Val Cenis also provide tuition in snowshoeing, ski touring, ice climbing and offer heli-skiing trips to Italy and Val d’Isere.
