Val Thorens Accommodation
Val Thorens is the largest of the Belleville valley resorts with about 24,000 beds. Accommodation options include luxury and mid-priced hotels, chalets, ApartHotels, self-catered apartments and a Club Med.
Val Thorens is certainly modern and purpose-built but it’s also quite stylish. There are a few eye-sores from the 1970s and 1980s but most have been replaced by a more sympathetic style of architecture. And almost everywhere in Val Thorens is near a piste, so location is less important than in other resorts. Instead accommodation providers have to compete on service, facilities and value for money.
Hotels in Val Thorens
Of the 4 stars Fahrenheit Seven is currently the top rated by previous guests, but faces stiff competition from Hotel des 3 Vallees and Le Val Thorens, so use the accommodation search link at the bottom to see if the rankings have changed, or just be reassured that they are all pretty good at making sure their guests have great holidays.
The top rated 3 star is the Alberta but there are others snapping at its heels.
Apartments in Val Thorens
The accommodation finder link at the bottom has details of about 200 self-catering apartments in Val Thorens, so the choice is huge. A notable trend is the emergence of more and more hybrid ‘ApartHotels’ offering spacious self-catering apartments with well-equipped kitchens but also access to swimming pools and saunas, and often a concierge service to help with deliveries so food can be delivered when you don’t want to cook (including fresh croissants for breakfast every morning). Examples of these include Residence Montana Plein Sud, Les Balcons Platinium, and Chalet Altitude. And there are plenty of more normal (and cheaper) self-catered apartments as well which you can find using the link below.
