Apres Ski in Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole is well-known for its bar and restaurant scene, almost as much as for its expert skiing. With numerous apres ski options in Teton Village, the town of Jackson and in between the two, you will be hard pressed to eat a bad meal, or have a bad apres ski experience, during your time in Teton County.

Be aware, reservations are a must for dinner almost anywhere you will want to go, so plan accordingly. The minimum age for consuming alcohol is 21, although children can accompany parents in some (but not all) bars.

Apres Ski Bars in Teton Village

One of the most famous apres ski bars in North America is the Mangy Moose (307-733-4913) at Jackson Hole. Located on far skiers right at Teton Village, the Moose has been the main go-to spot for skiers and boarders to end their day on the hill since 1967. It’s a great place to recount the day with old friends, and share some nachos with new ones.

Just steps from the main lifts in Teton Village is Handle Bar, which is part of the Four Seasons and an excellent place for either lunch or apres. Not only is the food great, but the outdoor patio stays bathed in sun long into the afternoon.

Apres Ski Bars in the Town of Jackson

In Jackson the most famous watering holes are the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Silver Dollar western saloon bars .

Founded in 1937, Jackson’s Million Dollar Cowboy Bar (307-733-4790) is hands down, the best (and most beautiful) cowboy bar in America. Located right off the main town square, Cowboy’s giant rotating neon sign is a beacon for locals and tourists alike, who can’t stay away from the knobbled pine interior, authentic saddle stools, and cowboy/western dancing. If you came to Jackson and skipped the Cowboy bar, you’d be missing out on something truly special.

The Silver Dollar Bar in the Wort Hotel is quieter and really the only other bar in the town, as nearly everywhere else requires you to be seated at the bar in order to be there. It gets its name from the silver dollars that are inlaid into the bar.

Restaurants in Teton Village

The Cascade Grill House & Spirits Bar (307-734-7111) in the Teton Mountain Lodge has a fireside setting, an extensive beer and wine list, and avoids the noise and frenzy of more typical après-ski locations.

Some of the best Italian food is at Corsa, located inside Caldera House which is just skier’s right of the Tram building. Enjoy homemade pasta, pizza and other delights alongside the best Aperol Spritz on the hill.

Located at the base of the Tram, RPK3 offers both sit-down and fast casual lunch and apres. The quieter Village Cafe offers many beers on tap and the best pizza in Teton Village; it’s a good spot to meet locals and hear about some extreme ski exploits.

Located in the Alpenhof lodge at the main entrance to Teton Village, the Alpenhof features traditional Alpine European dishes including crepes, fondue, and schnitzels. Tucked away in the Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa to the skiers right side of Teton Village, Spur combines traditional American West ingredients with Alpine European techniques.  New as of the 2023/2024 season, Shin Shin in the Caldera House Hotel offers sushi in an elevated, fine dining atmosphere.

Teton Thai is a family owned restaurant with a big following and is located about 6 min walk from Teton Village, next to the Ranch Lot. You can also take the Ranch Lot shuttle to avoid the walk.

Cafe 6311 is a convenient, casual spot to grab a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich and get yourself situated before the day on the hill, and The General Store, located next to the tram, just up the walkway of the main entrance to the village, offers a range of items including coffee, hot chocolate, smoothies and snacks.

Restaurants in the Town of Jackson

The town has a plethora of great restaurants, many of which are owned by just a few restaurant groups. Although food is expensive, it is generally of excellent quality, and reservations are highly recommended.

For a casual dinner several options include Bin 22 (great wine bar attached to a wine shop where you can choose any bottle to bring to your table) Pinky G’s Pizza, Jackson Drug (burgers and shakes), Teton Tiger (sister restaurant to Teton Thai in the Village), Hatch Taqueria, Roadhouse Brewery or Snake River Brewery.

Going slightly more upscale includes Kitchen (modern food with an Asian influence), Local (great burgers and steaks), Trio (American bistro), King Sushi, Bistro (French), and Gather (creative American).

On the highest end in Town, the two standouts are Coelette (modern, with European and Asian influences) and Snake River Grill (New American cuisine with an extensive wine list, established in 1993).

For your daily coffee, breakfast or lunch, check out Persephone, Cowboy Coffee or D.O.G for burritos.
