Alta Peruvian lodge is a three-star hotel just a few hundred yards downhill from Alta ski resort base area.

Alta Peruvian Lodge is the most affordable of Alta’s five ski lodges. The European style ski hotel began life as a World War Two nurses’ barracks before being reassembled in its current location in 1948.

The Alta Peruvian Lodge is a place for socialable skiers looking to mix with other guests. Room rates include three meals a day and they are taken in a common area with other guests. Meeting new people and mingling with fellow diehard powder skiers is part of the allure to most of Alta Peruvian’s guests. Many guests return the same week each year. The lodge is very proud of the fact it has continued to maintain its “camp-like” traditions for over almost 70 years.

There are two main reasons that Alta Peruvian Lodge is the most affordable Alta lodge. First it is not totally ski in ski out, but guests hop a free shuttle for a two minute ride up the street to Alta ski area. Second, the rooms are of a three-star quality. Guest rooms are well-appointed and clean, but not luxurious. Both private and shared room and bathroom options are available.

Being set back slightly from Alta’s base area means that it the Alta Peruvian has some of the best views of the resort itself.  Many of the rooms feature great views of the Collins Lift portion of the resort. The lodge features free Wi-Fi a game room, two outdoor hot tubs and a heated outdoor pool, which has amongst the best poolside views we’ve ever seen.
