Snowsports School Alpbach Aktiv
Alpbach Aktiv Snowsports School offers group lessons in skiing and snowboarding for 3 days or 5 days as well as private instruction and caters for all abilities. The 5-day course is recommended for beginners and advanced courses are tailored according to ability and to suit the particular needs of participants. All ski school lessons start from the ski school “Kids Center” meeting point on top of the Wiedersbergerhorn.
Alpbach Aktiv also runs the indoor Kids Center on Wiedersbergerhorn for children aged 2-4 years and Frosty’s Snow World, which is a special ski school programme for children aged 4-6 years. Kids-Care is a supervised play area with a children’s cinema, sleeping area and changing facilities. A set-menu children’s lunch is also available. The Frosty’s Snow World children’s playground and the ski area are fully supervised, and securely fenced and include free helmet hire for kids, a wide selection of fun learning aids, two magic carpets, a children’s ski race, prize-giving and kids apres ski party.
Alpbach Aktiv ski instructors wear grey and blue ski suits and the main school office in the centre of Alpbach below the church is open daily from 08:00 – 18:00. There is also a second office at the Wiedersbergerhorn lift station open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 09:00-11:00 and 15:00-17:00. The Kids Center at Frosty’s below the top station of the Wiedersbergerhorn gondola is open daily from 09:30-15:00.

Ski & Snowboard School Alpbach
Founded in 1932, the Ski & Snowboard School Alpbach is the biggest and most established ski school in Alpbach with a team of over 50 instructors offering group lessons and private instruction in skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing, and ski guiding off-piste. The ski school Alpbach-Inneralpbach also offer a special Kinder Club programme in Alpbach and Inneralpbach for children from 4 years of age.
The ski school has offices in Alpbach village, opposite Raiffeisen bank, a meeting point at the ski bus stop behind the Hotel Boglerhof in Alpbach and two alternative meeting points, one at the top of the Wiedersbergerhorn gondola and another meeting point and office at the Galtenberg-Schleppliftes valley lift station in Inneralpbach. Ski instructors from the Ski & Snowboard School Alpbach-Inneralpbach are recognisable by their bright red and white ski suits.
Lessons for beginners start from Sunday or Monday, advanced skiers can start any day between Sunday and Thursday and private lessons are available every day. The ski school offices are open daily in season from 08:00-11:00 and 14:30-18:00 and lessons are from 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00.

SkiCheck Snowsports School Alpbach
SkiCheck Snowsports “Ski and Smile” offers lessons for children from age 4 and in group sizes 3 to 8. Lessons are available Sunday to Friday between 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00 including supervision at lunchtimes. Children learning to ski for the first time benefit from the Kinderland nursery area with a covered conveyor belt available exclusively to skiCheck, situated next to the Galtenberg T-bar lift at Inneralpbach. Beginners courses start every Sunday and Monday.
Adult group lessons for first-time beginners including skis, boots and poles from 1 to 3 days from Monday to Wednesday from 10:30-12:00 and 13:00-14:30 meeting at skiCheck’s beginner area next to the Galtenberg T-bar lift at Inneralpbach.
Private lessons with top ski instructors for all ability levels are individually tailored to suit your needs. Start times and duration to suit you from as little as 1 hour 30 mins to 5 hours. SkiCheck Snowsports instructors are recognisable by their red jackets and blue pants. The main office is open daily in winter from 08:30 – 18:00.

Alpbach Mountain Guides
Guiding off-piste in Alpbachtal is available through the ski schools. Alpbach Aktiv also offer off-piste safety camps every Friday in season from 09:00-12:00 to enable participants to assess snow conditions, and avalanche risks and to make them familiar with search and rescue techniques and the basic use of avalanche safety equipment.
Ski guiding off-piste as well as skiing and snowboarding lessons in Alpbach are also available from Johann Schneider’s “One Man Ski and Snowboard School”. A state-qualified ski instructor, ski guide and snowboard instructor, Johann is also an Austrian karate champion, a stunt co-ordinator and has appeared as a stuntman in numerous movies and advertisements.
