Sun Valley HeliSki is based near the Warm Springs Base Lodge. It offers a $1250 per person, per day package which includes 6 runs, lunch, and transceiver rental. Flotation airpacks can be rented for an additional fee.
The Sawtooth National Forest is the playground for Sun Valley Heliski guests. Here set amongst the beautiful Pioneer, Smoky, Boulder and Sawtooth Mountain ranges, skiers will experience some of North America’s best heliskiing terrain. Steeps, bowls, chutes, coloirs, and tree skiing – Sun Valley Heliski will tailors each itinerary to to match the group’s preferred ski terrain and ability levels.
Interestingly, a series of recent forest fires in the Sun Valley region over the last few years has changed tremendously the character of the skiable backcountry terrain. Skiing through charred out hillsides ravaged by forest fires is an eerie and altogether different experience, but one which is tremendously enjoyable. We highly recommend sampling a mix of high alpine bowls and gladed terrain together with at least one run through a fire-effected area.
