Ski Lifts in Avoriaz

The ski lift system in Avoriaz provides excellent access to one of Europe’s most spectacular winter ski areas. Avoriaz is a car-free pedestrian resort that sits 1,800 meters above sea level. The Avoriaz Ski Lift System

The Avoriaz ski lift system includes high-speed chairlifts, gondolas, and traditional drag lifts, each engineered to handle the resort’s impressive daily capacity while maintaining the highest safety standards.

The iconic Prodains Express cable car whisks visitors from the valley floor to the plateau to the strategic lifts linking Avoriaz with neighbouring Swiss resorts like Champéry, Les Crosets, the resort’s piste, and Morzine.

Avoriaz Ski Lift Pass Information

There are two main ski pass options in the resort. The most popular, certainly with new skiers, is the Avoriaz pass, which provides access to the local area and covers 75km of ski runs. The more advanced Portes du Soleil pass covers a much larger area with over 650km of cross-border runs incorporating 12 French and Swiss ski resorts.

Avoriaz Ski Lift Opening Times

Generally, the ski lifts in Avoriaz open at 8.45 a.m. and close at 4.45 p.m. However, the times are subject to change depending on weather conditions (and other factors), so it is always best to check directly when in the resort.

Morzine to Avoriaz Ski Lift

Skiers in Morzine use the Prodains telepherique lift to reach the Avoriaz ski resort and the rest of the Portes du Soleil ski region.

This relatively new lift, designed by the Swiss company 3S Technology, can accommodate up to 2400 passengers per hour and is a big improvement on the old lift system, which could only carry a few hundred passengers per hour.
