Hotel Royal 5-star
The 5-star Hotel Royal with stately architecture and lush surroundings, just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the resort, is situated near the golf courses and the ski-lifts. The 54 rooms include all modern conveniences. The restaurant offers quality French cuisine with a touch of Italy and the Mediterranean. The interior design is based on an elegant mountain style mainly composed of wood throughout the hotel. Hostellerie du Pas du Lours 5-star
A small 15 room hotel on the outskirts of Crans, the Hostellerie Pas du L’Ouers has been rebuilt behind a traditional and quirky wooden facade, featuring natural stone walls, wooden beams and open fireplaces. Standard rooms are spacious and the larger suites have south-facing balconies, a feature fireplace and a Jacuzzi. The Pas de L’Ours elegant restaurant serves gourmet cuisine and has been awarded 17/20 points by Gault Milau. The hotel’s wellness area includes a swimming pool, fitness gym and a variety of treatment rooms. Owned by the Bestenheider family and categorised by the tourist office literature as a “Classified Luxury Hotel”, the Pas de L’Ours is definitely of a high standard but has no official Swiss Hotel Association star rating. Hotel Etrier 4-star
The Hotel Etrier is about a 5-minute walk from the ski lift in Crans and similarly close to the centre of Crans and hence convenient for the best shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel was extensively updated in 2007 and all 60 bedrooms and suites are quite pleasantly furnished. The Hotel Etrier’s main restaurant offers a set menu daily and Le Fer à Cheval restaurant serves Swiss cheese specialities of the Valais region. Grand Hotel du Parc 4-star
The 72 room Grand Hotel du Parc is situated in a quiet elevated position overlooking Lac Grenon, just a 200m walk from the gondola ski lift and conveniently close to the shops, restaurants, bars and casino in the centre of Montana. Unpretentious and family friendly, the Hotel du Parc gets good reviews for the standards of accommodation, cuisine and dependably good service. Guestrooms are comfortable and well lit, with attractive wood panelling and large balconies. Wellness facilities include a sauna and steam bath, a solarium and a fitness room. Hotel Mirabeau Montana 4-star
A medium size 4-star hotel conveniently located in the centre of Montana, approximately 200 metres from the ski lift, the Hotel Mirabeau is a traditional chalet style hotel with 45 spacious rooms, with floor to ceiling windows opening on to private balconies, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel’s ‘La Parrilla Argentina chez Chico’ restaurant specialises in dishes from Argentina and Switzerland and there’s also a small bar where guests can relax or play darts or billiards in the games room. While the hotel interior design is rather ordinary and uninspiring, the hotel is in a great location and the free shuttle bus from Montana train station stops just 50 metres from the entrance. Aparthotel Helvetia-Intergolf 4-star
The Helvetia Intergolf is an attractive chalet style apartment building with 44 apartments (4-6 beds) and 10 hotel rooms (refurbished in summer 2011). Conveniently located 150 metres from the centre of Montana and a 10-minute walk from the centre of Crans, the Helvetia Intergolf apartments are available for weekly hire. It’s worth noting that each apartment includes a pull down double bed so if you want two double rooms for four people you need to book a 6-bed apartment. The main restaurant serves Italian and French cuisine, and Swiss specialities including fondue and raclette are available in the more traditional Carnotzet restaurant. The cosy chalet style bar offers a wide range of wines and cocktails has a warm and friendly atmosphere and is one of the hotel’s best features.
