Skiers choose the pretty villages of Grimentz and Zinal for excellent skiing on uncrowded slopes, superb mountain views amid peaceful surroundings and good food – not for their nightlife. If apres-ski and vibrant nightlife are among your top priorities, you’d be better off in nearby Zermatt or Verbier, but the skiing in Grimentz-Zinal is second to none! 

Candidly, the village of Grimentz is livelier with more bars, restaurants and amenities, and prettier than Zinal too. The cobbled streets in the historic centre of Grimentz are so narrow that in some places the ancient chalet roofs almost touch each other across the road. Its location between the two ski areas (nowadays connected by lift) makes Grimentz a more convenient place to stay and Grimentz is also better for apres-ski.

Apres-Ski Bars in Zinal

The skiing in Zinal is first-class and you can eat well! If you are searching for more than relaxing apres-ski drinks after a hard day’s skiing it will not take you long to exhaust the best of Zinal’s apres-ski bars outside of the hotel bars and restaurants. Entertainment later in the evening is mainly limited to Franky’z Le Pub, which is not very appealing.

Bar Telepherique, Zinal

An atypical outdoor bar constructed from an old cable car, the Bar Telepherique is located at the foot of the Zinal-Sorebois gondola lift. Convenient for one or two drinks after skiing before relocating to more comfortable surroundings, the bar regularly organizes après-ski events with DJs and live music.
