Accommodation in Breckenridge

Breckenridge is in the middle of a lodging renaissance. While the resort has always had a large bed base, upscale lodging options are sparse. Owner Vail Resorts is bringing more top end lodging options to Breckenridge through a series of new hotels.

Breckenridge has many types of lodgings available including bed and breakfasts, hotels and condos, private homes and chalet homes. Nearly a third of the 20,000 guest beds are ski-in, ski-out.

For upscale accommodation try Beaver Run Resort, opposite the Beaver Run lift, which offers everything from hotel rooms to six bed condos, two swimming pools, four hot tubs, a spa with full range of body treatments and massages, as well as Spencer’s Restaurant if you don’t feel like cooking. The Village at Breckenridge with its on-site health club facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, racquetball, steam, sauna and exercise room surrounds the Peak 9 base area and is located next to the Quicksilver Super-Six chair. Also at the top end is The Great Divide Lodge; new owners Vail Resorts poured $4 million into remodeling the guestrooms, lobby and pool area, and it’s only 50 yards (45 m) from the slopes.

One Ski Hill Place (a RockResort) offers ski-in ski-out luxury to the base of Peak 8 and the Crystal Peak Lodge at the base of Peak 7 (adjacent to the BreckConnect midstation and the Independence Superchair) is also highly regarded.

For those on a tighter budget the Breckenridge Mountain Lodge offers a rough, log cabin exterior with warm, Wild West hospitality inside. Located at the south end of Main Street, it’s just a few minutes from the ski lifts and rentals. There are also budget accommodations options, and other good-value deals to be had at Skivillagelodging.com for as many as six people squeezing into a two-bedroom condo.
