Ski Schools & Guiding

Soldeu

Across Grandvalira there are now 450 instructors working in its six centres – Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp – so you’ll have no problem finding ski instructors or ski guides who speak the three official languages of Andorra (French, Spanish and Catalan) plus English of course.

The ski school operates Monday to Friday across
Grandvalira. There’s a non-ski kindergarten and crèche available
for younger children and good ski tuition for 6-10 year olds. Group
rates are 8.90 euros for one hour (7.80 children 6-11) in high
season and 7.80 euros for one hour (7.30 children) in low season. A
better buy is 15 hours of tuition taken across the week: 105 euros
(children 99.50) in high season, 101 euros (children 91 euros) in
low season

The meeting place for Soldeu ski school is at the top of the two
Soldeu lifts (TSD6 and TC8) in the area known as Pla Espiolets. Ski
Schools in Grandvalira are known as “Escola D’Esqui i
Snowboard”.

Individual tuition can be arranged at 40 euros an hour in the high
season and 36.50 in the low season. Rates go down considerably if
you share. Two people can have an instructor guide for the day at
43 euros an hour in high season (37.50 in low season). By the time
you get to a party of six (62 euros in high season) you are not
paying much more per hour than if you joined a ski class on the
slopes.

If you want an instructor to act as a guide to the slopes ask him
or her directly or you cn join the guided “Explore Grandvalira”
tour on a Saturday from 10:00am – 3:00pm for groups of 6-9 people
at a cost of approximately 40 euros per person.

And there are 5-day “Junior Ski” courses for small groups of 8-10
aimed at children and teenagers who have already attained a good
ski standard but want to progress further including initiation in
freestyle, slalom, bumps and off-piste skiing and boarding; and
which includes the one-day Explore Grandvalira tour

Expert skiers and snowboarders can sign up for a variety of themed
courses: alpine skiing, telemark skiing lessons, elite ski, Nordic
skiing and ski mountaineering with opportunity to be tested to find
out your ski level and video filming of some classes.

You’ll have no problem finding guides/instructors who speak the
three official languages of Andorra (French, Spanish and Catalan)
plus English of course.
