Nearest Airports to Alpe d’Huez and its surrounding villages

Grenoble (Alpes-Isere Airport): 105km / about 1 hour 30 minutes drive time
Chambery Airport: 132km / about 1 hour 50 minutes drive time
Lyon (Saint Exupery Airport) 155km / about 2 hours drive time
Geneva Airport 215km / about 2 hours 45 minutes drive time

Because Villard Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans, Auris-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Huez are at lower altitude than Alpe d’Huez, they tend to have slightly shorter transfer times – about 10 minutes less on average.

Grenoble airport is clearly the most convenient gateway airport for Alpe d’Huez and its surrounding villages, although it’s not quite as convenient as a quick glance at the map might suggest because the airport is a long way outside the city, and on the wrong side for Alpe d’Huez. An increasing number of national carriers (eg: British Airways), low cost budget airlines (eg: EasyJet, RyanAir, Jet2 etc) and Charter Airlines (eg; Thomas Cook) use Grenoble.

Chambery is the next closest airport but has fewer flights than Grenoble. Lyon Airport (about 2 hours away), and Geneva (just under 3 hours) have many more international flights.
