Getting to Alpe d’Huez
Grenoble Airport is about 90 minutes’ drive away from Alpe d’Huez. Lyon Airport is slightly further but is still within 2 hours range and has more international flights. Alpe d’Huez and the surrounding villages are also easy to reach by rail – Grenoble train station is only about an hour away and has high speed domestic and international services.

Because Villard Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans, Auris-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Huez are at lower altitude than Alpe d’Huez, they tend to have slightly shorter transfer times – about 10 to 15 minutes less on average.

Getting to Alpe d’Huez by rail
Grenoble train station is just over an hour’s drive from Alpe d’Huez and the surrounding villages, and has TGV and SNCF services from other French cities including Paris, and international services. The fastest Eurostar train service from London to Grenoble takes just over 6 hours, but most services take about 9 hours. Complete the journey from the station to the resort with a private transfer/taxi (get an online quote from Ski-Lifts) or wait for a bus (see below).
