Driving Directions for Val Gardena (Selva, S.Cristina, Ortisei)

Val Gardena can be reached using the Brenner Motorway (A 22).

Coming from the north, follow the route Innsbruck – Brennero – Chiusa. Coming from south, follow Verona – Trento – Bolzano. Take the Chiusa/Val Gardena exit. Ortisei is approximately 20 minutes from the autoroute, with S. Cristina and Selva a few minutes further.

Maps and SatNavs may use the German or even Ladin names for the ski resorts, as will most locals if  you stop to ask directions, so remember Selva is also known as Wolkenstein; Santa Cristina is also called Sankt Christina; and Ortisei is also known as Sankt Ulrich or Urtijëi. The whole Val Gardena valley is also called Gröden in German and Gherdëina in Ladin.
