The Swiss Ski & Snowboard School Adelboden
The Swiss Ski & Snowboard School Adelboden is a member of the Swiss Snow League association and offers a wide range of tuition in downhill skiing, telemark, snowboarding and snow safety. The ski school is located in the Tourist Office in the centre of Adelboden and employs up to 80 ski instructors.

The ski school meeting points are in front of Hotel Kreutz off the main street, just a short walk from the Tourist Office. There is also a meeting point in Boden next to the training lifts opposite the Wildstrubel restaurant, and further meeting points in the ski area at Geils and Sillerenbuhl. The ski school also runs Teepee Village, a special children’s area on the mountain in Geils, with two large teepees for children to enjoy breaks in a Red Indian atmosphere. Ski school hours are 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1.30 pm to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday, and 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Alpine School Adelboden
The Alpine School Adelboden offers regular weekly winter programs covering a wide range of Alpine disciplines, including snowshoeing (day or night), ice climbing, indoor climbing, and freeride skiing and off-piste touring. Alpine School Director Martin Maurer and his team of nearly 20 mountain guides are available for hire daily and also offer defined programmes with a choice of one-day, weekend, 5-day and 7-day tours off-piste.
Easy ski or snowboard tours off-piste in Adelboden – available on request every Tuesday (9 am to 2 pm) from December until April for confident skiers or boarders who need to be fit enough to hike up for 2-3 hours to enjoy incredible panoramic views before making your descent in deep powder. The routes are suitable for experienced off-piste skiers or boarders, as well as “beginners”, and require a minimum of 4 persons.
Advanced ski tours off-piste in Adelboden – the freeride tour of Wildstrubel or Bunderspitz is offered on Fridays (8 am to 5 pm) from December until May and is an interesting option for advanced off-piste skiers or boarders. For a minimum of three participants (four for Bunderspitz), able to ski or ride off-piste without falling, and fit enough for an ascent of 4-5 hours.
Weekend ski tours and training in Adelboden – the weekend course includes accommodation at the Berghotel in Engstligenalp, which is an ideal place to start touring early in the morning. Your safety training includes map reading, studying the latest avalanche bulletin, assessing avalanche conditions, learning to use an avalanche transceiver, measuring slope gradient, ski technique, and making good tracks in snow. Training sessions are alternated with easy tours, and the mountains surrounding the Engstligenalp are ideal for introducing you to ski touring with tours ranging from easy to medium difficulty. Hike up to one of the many mountain peaks to enjoy incredible views of the Alps, then ski deep powder back to Engstligenalp, relax in the hot tub and sauna, then head to the bar. Participants need to be fit enough to complete a 3-4-hour ascent and be able to control a stem turn off-piste.
Full-week ski touring in Adelboden – five-day and seven-day ski tours are also available with different itineraries varied according to weather and avalanche risks, and depending on the skills and experience of participants. Touring packages range from five nights of on-mountain accommodation at the Berghotel at Engstligenalp with five days of guiding to seven nights at the luxury Parkhotel Bellevue in Adelboden with gourmet meals, massages and spa.
