The 3-star River House Boutique Hotel is in the centre of Andermatt, nearby to both the Gemsstock Cable car and the local train station. This very old charming hotel has been most sympathetically modernised and offers individually decorated, comfortable rooms ad traditional cuisine in its on-site restaurant.

The hotel is housed in a property which is over 250 years old and much of the original traditional charm has been retained, whilst sympathetic modernisation throughout has achieved the desired effect. Alpine wood is used to create a warm atmosphere and common areas include the well-stocked bar and the sun terrace.

Rooms at the hotel are individual in their design finishes, with each incorporating lots of wood into the furnishings and flooring. Each room is bright and spacious and features an en-suite bathroom, comfortable furnishings and an Ipod docking station. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

The River House’s restaurant specialises in traditional regional dishes served in its charming dining room. Also a delightful bar – the charming Alt Apothek (or ‘old pharmacy’) is a popular haunt. Breakfast consists of a buffet of local produce. The hotel offers a good selection of wines.
