Getting to Brighton

Like most ski areas near Salt Lake City, Brighton is just a short drive up from downtown, at the back of Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Nearest Airports to Brighton

Salt Lake City International Airport provides easy access to Big Cottonwood Canyon. Roughly 40 minutes by car from the resort, getting to Brighton is a very easy. Salt Lake is a major hub for Delta airlines and there are over 600 scheduled daily airline departures and arrivals to almost 90 nonstop destinations.

Renting a car is an easy option, but be advised that 4WD or chains is required to enter Big Cottonwood Canyon at most times during winter. Additionally, Guardsman Pass from Park City to Brighton is closed during winter months. The only way in and out during winter is up the Big Cottonwood Canyon access road which leads up from the valley floor in Sandy, UT.

Canyon Transportation is the recommended airport transfer company of Solitude Mountain Resort, offering convenient service from Salt Lake City International Airport to Brighton. Rates are $39 one way or $76 round trip.

Cottonwood Carriages

Cottonwood Carriages provides airport transportation in SUVs to Solitude and is based in nearby Brighton.

Utah Transit Authority Ski Bus

The UTA runs a ski bus service in winter. A park and ride parking lot is located at the entrance to Big Cottonwood Canyon in Sandy, UT. A link to the current schedule can be found here.
