Damuls Mellau
Damuls-Mellau has two ski schools, one in Damuls and another in Mellau, both well regarded and offering good ski teaching for adults and children and guiding off-piste is also available for advanced skiers.
Damuls-Mellau family friendly ski area includes some exceptionally wide, well-groomed slopes which are especially good for intermediates as well as for beginners who should have no difficulty learning to ski here. While the majority of guests come from Germany and Switzerland, most of the ski instructors speak good English as well as German and can teach in both languages.
Damuls Ski School
The Damuls Ski School is situated in the small wooden chalet building immediately to the left of Walliser Stube Hotel, close to the 4-SB UGA chair lift and Kinderwelt children’s ski area. There are over 60 ski instructors and facilities for children include a special Kinderwelt (Childrens’ Land) area, ski classes for children aged 4 years or older, snowboarding lessons for children aged 6 years and older, and the Damuls “Bunny’s Club” kindergarten providing child care for children aged 2-4. Group ski lessons start on a Sunday in Damuls and are offered for minimum group size 4 people daily from Sunday to Friday from 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00. Lunch is taken together with the skiing instructor – children as well as adults. Guiding off-piste also offered by the ski school.

Mellau Ski & Snowboard School
The Mellau Ski & Snowboard School office is situated on the ground floor of the gondola base station (Mellau Bergbahnen) on the outskirts of Mellau and employs around 25 ski instructors, many of whom speak English. Ski lessons are available between 10:00-12:00 and 13:15-15:15 daily from Sunday to Friday. After booking your ski lessons, ride the gondola to Rossstelle then you have to walk about 150m from the top of the gondola to the ski school meeting point which is next to the T-bar.

Ski Guiding Off-Piste in Damuls-Mellau
Besides formal ski instruction, advanced skiers can book an instructor for a guided Ski Safari around the Damuls, Mellau and Faschina ski areas, on- or off-piste. Bregenzerwald has some excellent ski touring routes including day touring routes on Ragazerblanken (easy), Sünserspitze (medium) and Kanisfluh (difficult) each of which takes about 4 hours to complete.
