Apres Ski in Cervinia

Cervinia Resort Village

Breuil Cervinia is a high altitude ski resort at 2,050m in a spectacular location at the head of the Valtournenche valley, with the magnificent Matterhorn (Monte Cervino) towering above the village. You can also stay up the mountain at Cieloalto and Plan Maison or down the mountain in Valtournenche.

At 2,050m, Breuil Cervinia is one of the highest resorts in the Alps, guaranteeing excellent, snow-sure skiing throughout the season and into summer.  Cervinia’s compact resort centre has some traces of the old climbing village and has a lively, cosmopolitan feel. The centre is mainly pedestrianised and pleasant to stroll in with some cobbled streets and good shops and plenty of convivial bars, pizzerias and restaurants.

There are lifts at the North and South East edges of the village, and from the purpose-built suburb higher up the mountain at Cieloalto, so they are always within wlaking distance, but the village itself is on quite a steep slope so some of the more luxurious hotels provide a private bus service so their guests don’t have to walk up to the main lift station. Visitors who want really quick access onto the slopes can stay at the mid-mountain lift station at Plan Maison.

Cervinia fills up with Italians at weekends and during peak holiday periods such as New Year and the Carnival week in mid-February, but the nationalities of the guests outside these periods is fairly mixed with visitors coming from all over Europe, as well as further afield.

Leisure facilities in Cervinia include a public swimming pool, sauna, snow mobiling and a natural ice rink.
