Getting to Cervinia

Breuil-Cervinia is approximately 30km from the main Aosta Valley motorway. Turin is the nearest airport and the fastest transfers take less than two hours. Milan and Geneva are alternative airports.

Nearest Airports to Cervinia

The most convenient airport for Cervinia is Turin Caselle, and many airlines including BA and Ryan Air fly there.  Milan Malpensa and Geneva airports are alternative arrival points with even more flight options, though transfers from these airports to Cervinia take a little longer.

Bus Services to Cervinia from Milan and Turin Airports

Public transport is cheaper but more difficult to arrange. There is a limited bus service from both Milan and Turin airports to Cervinia with Arriva Italia.

Aosta Valley Bus Services

Arriva Italia (formerly SAVDA Aosta) is the local public transport provider for travel by bus between Aosta Valley resorts, main cities Milano (Milan) and Torino (Turin) and states bordering the Aosta Valley. Getting to Cervinia by Rail

There is a train station in Chatillon Saint Vincent, at the bottom of the Valtournenche valley, and there is a bus service from Chatillon to Valtournenche and Cervinia. To speed up the journey you can also take a taxi/ private transfer – which can be booked online in advance through Ski-Lifts.

Cervinia Local Ski Bus & Taxi Services

Cervinia is served by a regular ski bus, though most 3- and 4-star hotels also offer shuttle services to and from the lifts. The Savda bus company operates bus services from Milan Lampugnano and Turin airports, as well as local services within the valley.

Taxis are available from the main square in Cervinia and from the bottom of the Plan Maison cable car, close to the lift pass office. A taxi for up to 4 people from Valtournenche to Cervinia costs approximately €35.

Driving to Cervinia

Having a car in Cervinia can be useful if your accommodation is a long walk from the lift. Most of Cervinia’s 3-star and 4-star hotels offer parking facilities, though garaging may incur an additional charge, so check if it’s included.

Road access to Cervinia is from the Aosta Valley A5 toll motorway, leaving the motorway at the exit for Chatillon then the last 40 minutes of the road journey is on mountain roads.  Snow chains or winter tyres should be booked in advance, and bear in mind that the night time temperatures in Cervinia can be very low!
