The 4-star Nira Alpina – a cutting edge new property from Nira Hotels & Resorts – is a ski-in, ski-out hotel situated in the Engadine valley. Nestled into the mountainside beneath the Corvatsch Mountain, the hotel enjoys views of the small Swiss village of Surlej and the turquoise waters of Lake Silvaplana.

Guests of Nira Aplina are able to ascend to 3,300 metres, the highest point in the ski domain, in just fifteen minutes, without even having to step outside the door of the hotel, as a private covered walkway connects the hotel to the upper level of the Corvatsch cable car building. For those that want a taste of the glitz and glam of St. Mortiz, Nira Alpina offers a complimentary hotel shuttle regularly connecting from Surlej.

Rooms

The hotel’s 70 rooms include 14 interconnecting rooms and an entire floor dedicated to junior suites, all of which command spectacular double windows. Each of the hotel’s rooms features a balcony or terrace, luxurious Swiss made, organic cotton sheets and pillows and contemporary granite bathrooms. All bedrooms are equipped with HD 32-inch flat screen TVs, an iPod docking station, mini bar and complimentary WiFi.

Resaturants & Bar

Nira Alpina boasts two restaurants – Stalla Veglia which serves Alpine specialities in a traditional Swiss setting, and Stars, which serves world cuisine including a range of sharing platters and dishes. The hotel also features The Bar at Stars, a spacious room with floor to ceiling windows and an al fresco terrace, serving mojitos and caipirinhas, amongst other tipples. In addition, Nira Alpina has a bistro where skiers can relax après-ski while enjoying soups, hot chocolate and Glühwein, and a bakery which serves specialist fresh breads, cupcakes, croissants and tarts.

Spa & Wellness

The hotel offers guests access to Nira Spa, a five-treatment room spa using only organic local products Alpienne and Spiezia Organics. Nira Spa offers a relaxation room with coloured mood enhancement lighting, an aroma cabin, steam room, sauna, hydrotherapy bed, heated swimming pool, Rasul bath and vast whirlpool with a fountain and underwater relaxation bed. Guests can relax in the eucalyptus steam room after a day on the slopes or walking in the mountains. Pebble-shaped sofas, the ‘alpine rocks’ of the spa, invite relaxation whilst floor to ceiling windows offer views over the nursery slopes and peaks beyond. Adjacent to the spa is the hotel’s gym where state of the art equipment includes a cross trainer, running machine and exercise bike.
