Getting to Killington
Getting to Killington is relatively easy from most of the Northeast. Killington lies 15 miles (24 km) from Rutland, Vermont, and approximately 25 miles (40 km) from Rutland Airport, which has flights daily to and from Boston.
Also nearby is West Lebanon airport, which is 39 miles (62 km) and about a one-hour drive. There is no regular shuttle bus service from either of these airports, so renting a car is the best option. Flying times to Rutland take around one hour from Boston, two to three hours from New York and three to four hours from Washington DC. London, England, to Boston is around seven hours by plane.
Boston is 158 miles (252 km) and around two hours away by car; New York City lies 250 miles (400 km) to the south-around five hours by road; and from Montreal to Killington is about a three-hour drive. You can also reach Killington by bus from New York and Boston, or by rail to Rutland on a line that runs between New York and Montreal. Amtrak’s Ultimate Ski Train-the Ethan Allen Express-runs every afternoon (c.2:45 pm) from New York City’s Penn Station to Rutland in just over five hours. Train times and rail fares can be found on www.amtrak.com.
Once you’re in the Killington area, a shuttle bus plies the access road and all major hotels. It makes getting around the area easy and is especially useful on during evening hours as DUI laws are strictly enforced.
