This building carries years of history, after originally being built as a scythe forge in 1800; in 1890 it was created into a venerable palace hotel. Sitting in amid forest just a couple of minutes drive from the town centre, the Sonnenbichl’s grand yellow façade stands proudly looking out at the Bavarian Alps and the Zugspitze mountains.

In recent years the Sonnenbichl has undergone gentle restoration, the interior is sharp and contemporary, with polished marble floors as you walk in the lobby. The rooms are spacious and modern but still manage to remain cosy, with carpeted flooring and country house fabrics to make guests feel comfortable and welcome.
